Week 8 Reviews: Soldier, Legion

From Goodreads:
From the limitless imagination of Julie Kagawa comes the next thrilling novel in THE TALON SAGA

Forced to choose between becoming an assassin for the dragon organization Talon and being hunted forever as an outcast, Ember Hill now stands with Riley and his band of rogue dragons. She's lost contact with her twin brother, Dante, a Talon devotee, as well as Garret, the former enemy soldier who challenged her beliefs about her human side.

As Ember and Riley hide and regroup to fight another day, Garret journeys alone to the United Kingdom, birthplace of the ancient and secret Order of St. George, to spy on his former brothers and uncover deadly and shocking secrets--secrets that will shake the foundations of dragons and dragonslayers alike and place them all in imminent danger as Talon's new order rises.

From Goodreads:
The legions are about to be unleashed, and no human, rogue dragon or former dragon slayer can stand against the coming horde.

Dragon hatchling Ember Hill was never prepared to find love at all--dragons do not suffer human emotions--let alone the love of a human and a former dragonslayer, at that. With ex-soldier Garret dying at her feet after sacrificing his freedom and his life to expose the deepest of betrayals, Ember knows only that nothing she was taught by dragon organization Talon is true. About humans, about rogue dragons, about herself and what she's capable of doing and feeling.

In the face of great loss, Ember vows to stand with rogue dragon Riley against the dragon-slaying Order of St. George and her own twin brother Dante--the heir apparent to all of Talon, and the boy who will soon unleash the greatest threat and terror dragonkind has ever known.

Talon is poised to take over the world, and the abominations they have created will soon take to the skies, darkening the world with the promise of blood and death to those who refuse to yield.

My Review:
Oh, wow, it was so freaking great to read these books! So much happened, like we met an Eastern dragon, who said that she wasn't a dragon, and given her powers and that she has no wings, well, she's different so I can understand that! We find out why the Elder Wyrm has such an interest in Ember and what she didn't tell Dante. We learn about why Ember and Riley/Cobalt's bond is so intense and primal. And why so many of Riley's safe houses have been attacked. Yeah, a lot happened!

One thing that I really liked, and was continued from Rogue with Riley/Cobalt, was that we got Garret's past in some chapters of Soldier, and then Dante's past in Legion. These 3 characters are pretty important to this series, and I wonder if it'll happen in Inferno, and if so, who will it be?!

There were a lot of times of breaking into Talon facilities, which is dangerous in and of itself, but with what Garret discovered-that Talon had blackmail over the leader of the Brotherhood, well, that made things all the more dangerous, because Talon used the Brotherhood as their strike force, basically. Which really sucked!

They managed to deal with that, but not without major cost, which really sucked. And then with the clones, or "vessels" are brought out to play, and yeah, that ending was just pure evil, and it really changed the game, and I want to know how it's all going to play out!

Loved reading these books, and I'm so excited for Inferno!
