Week 34 Review: The Flame Never Dies

From Goodreads:
For fans of Cassandra Clare and Richelle Mead comes the unputdownable sequel to The Stars Never Rise, a book Rachel Caine, author of the bestselling Morganville Vampires series, called "haunting, unsettling, and eerily beautiful."

ONE SPARK WILL RISE. Nina Kane was born to be an exorcist. And since uncovering the horrifying truth—that the war against demons is far from over—seventeen-year-old Nina and her pregnant younger sister, Mellie, have been on the run, incinerating the remains of the demon horde as they go.

In the badlands, Nina, Mellie, and Finn, the fugitive and rogue exorcist who saved her life, find allies in a group of freedom fighters. They also face a new threat: Pandemonia, a city full of demons. But this fresh new hell is the least of Nina's worries. The well of souls ran dry more than a century ago, drained by the demons secretly living among humans, and without a donor soul, Mellie's child will die within hours of its birth.

Nina isn't about to let that happen . . . even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

My Review:
This book, just wow! I loved reading it, and I would absolutely love a 3rd book! There are some unanswered questions-like why is the door only one way, and what happened 10 years ago to cause it? Plus, the majority of the people don't know that about the demons in the clergy, and it would be awesome to read about them finding out!

This book takes place about 5 months after the ending of The Stars Never Rise. (On a side note, I love how the "never" is negative in the first title, and positive in this title!) Survival and Mellie's pregnancy are big things! Loved that!

We were introduced to new characters, and we learned more about Maddy and Finn, and their history. To know that they were brothers, and Finn died-and that's why he is like he is, and oh, yeah, their dad is/was a demon who impregnated their mother when she was in the demon's home world? Yeah!

Loved how the events of the last book weren't what they seemed, and that the Church wanted them to escape, and that it was all part of their plan to take down Pandemonia. It was really sad about Mellie, but then there was her Trojan horse, Adam!

I just loved how they were going to use the demon's plan against Pandemonia against the Church demons, to get rid of them! The world is going to be a better place, but I don't think it'll be easy, and I want to read it! And to have more time with Finn having a body, that of Grayson's brother, permanently, I want more of that!

Absolutely loved this book, I just devoured it, and I'd love a 3rd book! To have more time with these characters would be awesome!
