Week 32 Review: Dragonmark

From Goodreads:
Centuries ago, Illarion was betrayed– a dragon made human against his will, then forced to serve humanity as a dragonmount in their army, and to fight for them in barbaric wars, even while he hated everything about them. Enslaved and separated from everyone he knew and from his own dragon brothers, he was forced into exile in a fey realm where he lost the only thing he ever really loved.

Now he has a chance to regain what's been lost— to have the one thing he covets most. But only if he gives up his brothers and forsakes the oaths he holds most dear. Yet what terrifies him most isn't the cost his happiness might incur, it's the fact that there is just enough human in his dragon's heart that he might actually be willing to pay it and betray everything and everyone– to see the entire world burn...

My Review:
Absolutely loved this book! It was a lot like Styxx-the beginning of the couple in the past, being torn apart, bits of the previous books, and then the end half, getting back with their ladies! And yeah, I enjoyed it, and seeing some things from Son of No One and Dragonbane from Illarion's POV!

Karma and Thorn? A possible couple, or a secret that is shared between them, which could be something that could become a book for them to get together? Or maybe to get one of them with someone close to the other? I wants to know!

We didn't get much on the whole Dragonmark thing, from which the title comes from. Only at the end was it revealed that only Illarion and his sister in the current times contain the power-that lets them absorb blows from the Gods. Which is pretty awesome and helpful!

Really enjoyed how they got back together! After everything that caused them to be parted-with him thinking her dead, and her unable to get back, well, I do wish we'd seen some more from her POV, but we got enough, and yeah, there's going to be some bad stuff coming soon with Apollo and Morgan working together!

What I'm wondering, is why this is the first book in the Dragon's Rising series, instead of Dragonbane, which stared Max and Sera. Whereas Battle Born, which stars Urian and probably a dragon, like Max's daughter or something, is the last book in the trilogy within the series. Why couldn't it have been a quad in the series instead?

Loved reading this book, it was fantastic, and I just love this series and Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing, and I can't wait for the next book with Falcyn and Medea!
