Week 15 Review: Cursed

From Goodreads:
Dying sucks
...and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand.

After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.

Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?

But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life.

For real this time.

My Review:
I loved reading this book! I love reading Jennifer L. Armentrout books, and yeah, this is the first book of her's that I've read that was a stand alone. But on her site, she said that she was considering ideas for a sequel, she just had to find one that didn't read like x-men, which means more possible time in this world, yeah!

So Ember has the pretty horrible ability to kill what she touches. Because her sister used her gift of life, to bring back Ember. So yeah, that's a pretty complicated situation. And then when you add in Hayden, his adopted father and the group of others like them, well, it gets even more convoluted!

There's a lot of emotional conflict in this book. Because of Ember's subsequent ability, it means no touching. And that would be hard for anybody. But for a teenager, it's even worse, especially when there's someone like Hayden in the mix!

One thread that was left open, hopefully for the sequel, is who wiped the McWilliams' mom, because yeah, that is currently a question mark in my book, and would have a lot of conflict there! I'm really rooting for a sequel!

I just enjoyed this book so much, it was a Jennifer L. Armentrout book through and through!
