Week 31 Review: Born at Midnight

From Goodreads:
Don't miss this spectacular new series that will steal your heart and haunt your dreams, Welcome to Shadow Falls camp, nestled deep in the woods of a town called Fallen…

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren't just "troubled." Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie's never felt normal, but surely she doesn't belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn't complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek's a half-fae who's determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin' hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn't be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

My Review:
What a great book! I loved this world, and yeah, this was an awesome debut novel, which it was, even if it cam out last year. But that's how behind in the book world I half am, what with all the books that are coming out now, and before!

I loved this book so much! I loved Kylie, who until recently, has had a pretty good life, but now, her grandma's died, her parents are getting divorced, her boyfriend broke up with her because she wouldn't sleep with him, and she's getting stalked by "Solider Dude" that no one else can see. Oh, and because she was at a party that served drugs and alcohol, she's being sent to Shadow Falls.

I loved Shadow Falls, and how yeah, it's a camp for supernatural teens, and how they have to live together, and learn to get along, and that the old farts don't like the species working together, so there's that tension, and then there's something that's causing the government to threaten the shut down of the camp, so busy busy busy for Holiday and S werewolf who's name I've forgotten!

Loved all the romance, the back and forth, the worrying about who's right for her, between Lucas, the werewolf who briefly lived next door to her, who killed her cat, or Derek, the half fey who wants to block his gift, who donated blood to spend time with her, and respected that she just wanted to be friends.

Yeah, this was a really awesome book, and it was set up for more, like her dad, and the new ghost!
